The DR’s most storied resort
Casa de Campo is not a beach hotel — it’s a seven-thousand-acre private village on the southern coast, complete with its own airport (LRM), three Pete Dye golf courses, a marina, an equestrian center, and Altos de Chavón: a hand-built sixteenth-century-style Italian village perched on a limestone cliff over the Chavón River. Weddings here happen inside St. Stanislaus Church (coral stone, wrought iron, one long aisle), spill down the cobblestones into the amphitheatre or piazza, and finish at a private villa or the beach. It is the DR’s most cinematic setting, and one of the reasons we love working on this island.

What to know
Planning notes for Casa de Campo
Fly into La Romana, not Punta Cana
Casa has its own airport (LRM) — a small terminal, ten minutes from the resort gate. If guests are already flying into PUJ, plan on about a 75-minute drive. SDQ (Santo Domingo) is also a viable option and often cheaper on airfare, about the same distance.
The St. Stanislaus timing question
The church is small and beautiful and books early — often a full year in advance for peak weekends. If a coral-stone Catholic ceremony is central to your vision, this is the first thing to lock. We time portraits around a 5:30–6:00 PM sunset over the Chavón gorge afterward — it is one of the great sunset views in the Caribbean.
Villa weddings behave like a private estate
Multi-day villa take-overs are the norm here — welcome dinner Friday, ceremony & reception Saturday, brunch and pool day Sunday. We staff accordingly (two cinematographers on the main day, a second-shooter option for the surrounding events).
