The DR’s second city
Santiago is where Dominican weddings feel most Dominican: the country’s second city, ringed by the mountains of the Cibao Valley, with a wedding culture built around family, merengue, and celebrations that do not end early. Days here move from cathedral and garden ceremonies to mountain-view receptions above the city lights, with golden valley light instead of a beach horizon. If your families are from the Cibao, or you simply want a wedding with the city’s energy and the mountains behind it, this is our kind of day.

What to know
Planning notes for Santiago
Fly into STI
Cibao International (STI) sits fifteen minutes from the city with direct flights from JFK and Newark, so guests from New York land practically at the venue. No cross-island transfers, no resort shuttles.
Mountain light, not beach light
Inland, the day ends with the sun dropping behind the Cordillera: long golden light over the valley instead of a sea horizon. We plan portraits around that hour, and the city view earns a second session after dark.
The party runs long
Santiago receptions are famous for going late. If the hora loca and the last dance matter to you, we scope coverage hours honestly at the start instead of leaving before the room peaks.
