The DR’s luxury enclave
Cap Cana sits ten minutes south of Punta Cana International Airport, on the same coast — but behind a private gate, on a stretch of powdered-sugar sand called Juanillo, with a marina where the yachts sit lined up like a small European harbor. It reads more “St. Barts” than “all-inclusive.” Ceremonies happen on the sand, on the cliffs above Punta Espada, or in the Chavón-inspired Trinity chapel at Sanctuary; receptions move to a rooftop, a garden, or the marina. It’s our first recommendation when couples want the ease of Punta Cana without the crowd of it.

Planning notes for Cap Cana
The chapel earns its reputation
Sanctuary’s Trinity chapel — a small dome-shaped stone building on the cliff — is one of the few interior ceremony sites on the east coast that photographs beautifully. If you want a Catholic or church-format ceremony without leaving the beach, this is the shortlist.
Juanillo, not the resort strip
Whenever possible we take couples to Juanillo Beach or the Punta Espada cliffs for portraits — both are inside the gate and both are far quieter than a resort beach at 5:00 PM. Buggy transfers are quick; wardrobe changes fit easily.
Punta Cana airport, without the Punta Cana drive
Cap Cana is fifteen minutes from PUJ — the shortest transfer of any wedding region on the island. Guests land, clear customs, and are in a golf cart to their villa within an hour.
